As I started writing my new book, Learn Your Way to Success, I started thinking back to the many experiences I have had with learning, as a student, as a 7th-grade math teacher, as an adjunct professor, as director of research and planning at a community college, in the various corporate training jobs I have held, and as a consultant, author, and speaker.
The new book is about the learning opportunities we have every day as part of our jobs and the many ways in which we can learn. It is about becoming a conscious, intentional learner, continuously looking for learning opportunities in order to improve one's job performance and further one's career. No matter whether you are fresh out of school in your first job or an "old-timer," no matter whether you work on the factory floor or in the executive suite, learning should be an integral part of each day's work agenda.
Through this blog, I plan to share my own stories, both as a learner and as one who has guided the learning of others throughout his career. I invite you respond to my posts with your own learning stories.
